I recently visited shepherdess Tess Hahn of Bah Bah Blacktail Farm to learn more about the first aid supplies a shepherd should keep on-hand for when things go wrong with sheep. We made a video going over the problems Tess has encountered and the different items she has found useful for treating sheep. Here is a link to my Amazon store where you can see most of the products mentioned in the video:

I’m really excited to announce the FREE Homestead Sheep Foundations Workshop is open, ready for your viewing pleasure, and waiting expectantly for your feedback!
In preparation for the Sheep Essentials Course Dr. Tess Hahn and I are creating, I developed the Homestead Sheep Foundations Workshop. This is a free mini-series of instructional videos where we are sharing high-quality information on topics about which you wanted to learn more.
A few weeks back, I sent out a request to folks who downloaded my ebook (6 Things You Need to Know to Get Started with Sheep) asking them what the two most important things you’d want to have covered in our upcoming Sheep Read More
We had our first lambing a few days ago early in the morning. I went outside and found 3 lambs; Annabelle was claiming two white lambs and Veronica was claiming one brown/white lamb. Ok, two ewes lambed at relatively the same time and now we have three babies! Awesome!
Not so fast! It turned out Veronica wasn’t really a mom (yet) after all. Annabelle actually had triplets but she has rejected the brown/white lamb possibly because Veronica stole him originally and Annabelle didn’t bond with him.
Consequently, the lamb needs bottle-feeding (Veronica didn’t have milk yet and also lost interest in being a foster mom the day after lambing). Watch this Read More
Justin Rhodes of abundantpermaculture.com reached out to me for help getting started with sheep. He is bringing lambs onto his homestead for lawn control and a meat harvest in the fall. Justin is a chicken master and quite handy with cattle also but hasn’t had much exposure to sheep. He wanted to get my input on some of the materials he will need for his sheep. After making Justin a list of materials with links, I figured I’d share it with everyone since there are probably many other people out there who need help getting started.
I published a YouTube video called 6 Things You Need to Get Started with Sheep
