It is annoying to have to buy a specialized tool that only does one thing well. BUT… sometimes that specialized tool does the job so well it is totally worth it. That is true in the case of the fence “tie bar” tool. It quickly aids in the bending of those clips used to attached a cattle panel to a t-post. The first 100 or so t-post clips I installed were done with pliers. They work but it is a much slower job than what it has to be.
When we installed our perimeter fence back in the spring of 2017, I knew it was time to upgrade to the right tool. The tie bar tool reduced the installation time of each clip dramatically by making them go on so much easier. It made the task almost enjoyable.
Here is the (affiliate) link to the 4″ version of the tie bar:
I have the 6″ version only because the 4″ was out of stock when I went to purchase it. The 4″ is definitely the way to go because it enables you to still use the tool in the smaller squares of the cattle panel. It gets rather tight using a 6″ in the small squares.
I highly recommend this tool if you’re going to be putting up cattle panels in any quantity.
I noticed that tool when you guys were installing the perimeter fence. I made a note to self that I need that thing if I ever install a fence too…..thanks for putting that link and the name of the tool, definitely a great help for one planning their own slice of paradise.
